Shaping the community together
18 November 2016
New Hope Group is calling on its local community to have input into shaping its future.
Jondaryan, Goombungee, Oakey and Kulpi residents are asked to complete a simple survey to ensure community views and local priorities are considered during New Hope’s community partnerships and investments selection process.
New Hope will use the information collated through the surveys to inform where best to direct more than $600,000 in local sponsorship annually, which will assist their delivery of long term and sustainable outcomes for the local community.
New Hope’s General Manager Mining, David Vink said it is important residents have a voice when it comes to investment in their own community.
"We’d love to hear locals’ views about the community’s strengths, issues and needs so we can invest in services we all want and deserve," Mr Vink said.
"New Hope, its workers and their families and friends are all part of the local community and we recognise our responsibility in working together to build our local community.
"We have a keen to hear what the community as a whole believes are the priorities and needs for the area."
Mr Vink said the survey will help shape the region’s future and measure a range of variables including:
- community identity and values;
- changes in population, business and industry;
- community strengths and available resources; and
- community issues, resource gaps and community needs.
The consultation process includes an online survey, workshops, and stakeholder interviews.
The survey closes on Wednesday 30 November 2016 and can be accessed at https://www.research.net/r/NAC2016CommunityPriorities.
