Acland Pastoral Company auctions equipment

21 March 2017

Acland Pastoral Company (APC) is making its surplus farming goods and equipment available for locals to purchase via Landmark’s online public auction site, Auctions Plus.

Over 450 items will be auctioned online from the 29th to the 31st of March in a bid to provide all locals with an equal opportunity to purchase the goods and provide for more effective grazing operations.

The items will be available for inspection on the 22nd and 23rd of March. Established in 2006, APC manages the buffer zone land purchased around New Acland Mine and currently has around 11,000ha of holdings around the mine site.

It also operates the cattle grazing trials on New Acland Mine’s rehabilitated mined land.

Many of the properties purchased by New Acland Mine were smaller holdings with similar infrastructure and equipment which are now surplus to APC operational needs.

Over time locals have enquired about purchasing various items from APC, encouraging the company to sell the equipment in an open and transparent process.

Proceeds from the auction will go towards the cost of effective demolition of unsaleable asbestos sheds and houses.
